This Yoga Nidra meditation has beautiful tanpura music playing in the background accompanied by a warm golden light visualization. Yoga Nidra is deeply soothing to the nervous system, moving the body from the sympathetic state of “fight, flight, freeze” to the parasympathetic state of "rest/digest". Yoga Nidra is also crucial in helping manage stress & anxiety.
Each Yoga Nidra meditation begins with an intention, which is known as Sankalpa. This form of meditation is practiced while in savasana (corpse pose), so you will want to set up your practice to be comfortable. It is a practice where you will remain as still as possible while being guided throughout your body.
Below are suggested items to prepare for Yoga Nidra:
A blanket (body temperature can drop during meditation)
A pillow for your head
A pillow or blanket for under your legs
Something to cover your eyes
